Ambrose “The Legend” Stevens. The name says it all. Even before stepping into his most cherished role as loving husband and father, Ambrose dedicated his life to helping others; he spent the last almost 20 years working with American Medical Response (AMR) in many roles most recently as Operations Manager. He has deployed with FEMA for many different disasters over the years; as well as with Pure Works to provide medical service after civil war in Burundi Africa, Haiti and with Amber after an earthquake in Nepal. No doubt anyone who knows this family has a story of how one or both has lent a helping hand in one capacity or another.

On Monday February 12, 2024, Ambrose collapsed after experiencing respiratory complications due to Covid. The AMR crew was able to provide care and transfer him to the ER. However, Ambrose’s brain was deprived of oxygen for too long and on February 14, 2024, he was declared brain dead.
With the help of his beloved community, the family was able to stay with Ambrose’s heart all the way to the airport where he flew off to save yet another life.
