Artist Tribel of NewTribeSameQuest (Ashton Dawson) born August 30, 1993 in California, but later moved to Dallas, TX where he was raised and soon adopted the Southern Ways that most know. Music wasn't always his passion, he started by writing poetry and short plays while he was in Theater Arts. At the age of 16, he met with a few high school friends who they used to call themselves "The Coolest Lames" because they felt like the outcasts of school that everyone wanted to know. That's when they found out the talent they all possessed with music. That's where his journey began. When Tribel turned 19 he joined the U.S. Navy which was the best move he could of made. This is where he met Atlanta artist Dave Skillz (David Boyd) . Working alongside Skillz, Tribel soon began to learn a bit on how to engineer music and understand how to have a true ear for music.
Tribel dropped a few freestyles to songs such as "Drake-Still Here, Schoolboy Q-THat Part, & Monica- So Gone" in which gained him a lot of attention from his city. This is where Tribel figured let's drop an original and see the buzz to come from it. In turn came the song "Thats' Me" featuring Dave Skillz. The song helped people gain a feel for Tribel's style and had many fans asking for more. This is what led to the making of his debut album "4orty2wo" which had fans from all around the world in amazement from beginning to end. 4orty2wo includes hit singles such as "One Night Only" & "Good Vibes" that brought him to where he is now with great visuals to go along with them both.
Born and raised in Southern California, growing up in the suburbs; Kris was exposed to different genres that helped mold the type of artist he is now. Kris has always used music as an opportunity to create something that could possibly change someone else in a positive way. On one hand, with influences like Gavin DeGraw, Justin Timberlake, Jason Mraz, and Usher, his soulful sound is raw and unique. On the other hand, influences like 2Pac, Jay-z, Eminem, Slick Rick, and many more, have helped him create a way of storytelling that makes you feel like you’ve been a part of whatever emotion he’s singing or spittin’ about. Now running his own label, Product of the People Music, Kris has gathered some of the dopest new artist and together is takin over the music scene.
